Practical Vocational Training
The Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014 defines “practical vocational training” as ”training required in terms of the Act to qualify as a candidate attorney or pupil in order to be admitted and enrolled as an attorney or advocate.”
Having completed an LLB degree, our candidate attorneys work under the direct supervision of a senior attorney to gain practical exposure to different areas of the law and legal matters. Coupled with the prescribed practical training course and admission exams, this is a rewarding but demanding and challenging two-year period.
We offer an environment where candidates are given every opportunity and means to reach their full potential by investing considerable time and resources in their training and skills development.
During the two-year vocational training period, candidates will have the opportunity to rotate up to 4 different practice areas and work in diverse teams on quality client matters and transactions.
What you will learn:
Specialist legal training, resources and exposure;
Professional skills and career development; and
Mentoring and values-based learning.
Through the rotation system, our candidates will get an opportunity to explore where their niche lies and gain wide ranging practical experience.
