Working at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Inc

At Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH) we believe in partnerships. As one of the largest business law firms in Africa, the partnerships we cherish and value the most are those we have forged through time and experience with our clients, our people and our communities. We value training, learning and skills development as important elements of our corporate culture. This applies not only to our lawyers and law graduates, but also to our clients. We are a truly African law firm where transformation is about living our values and principles. We encourage you to visit our Graduate Recruitment website www.apply4law.africa for more information.

With universities continuing with remote e-learning we touched base with our graduates that are working remotely for their tips on how to adapt to studying remotely:

  • Create “work” triggers for your brain – have a designated workspace and time that triggers your brain to remember that you are in a place to work productively
  • Log off – unless you’re using your phone to study, rather place it where you won’t be distracted to continuously check it for social updates
  • Respectfully communicate expectations with anyone who is home with you that you are in lectures/study sessions
  • Familiarise yourself with the resources and support to enable you to work efficiently, eg scanner apps, additional library guides and group study sessions
  • Remain positive, creative, resilient, productive and engaged to achieve your goal of completing your studies by adapting to a new environment.
